Yarn Trader is an amazing boutique Yarn Store located in historic Port Adelaide. Since owner/manager Tanya opened her doors 7 years ago she has cultivated a creative community space that is welcoming, vibrant and inspiring. Yarn Trader has gone from strength to strength since the doors at 261 St Vincent St… in fact, it wasn’t long before they had outgrown the place and moved to the much larger corner store at 265 St Vincent St!
Even now, Yarn Trader is bursting at the seams with a wide range of premium local and imported yarns, tools, bags, books, yarn bowls, mugs and notions. They carry an extensive selection of Chiaogoo, KnitPro and Clover. You can find good yarns in a range of weights and fibres for under $10 a ball, as well as something special to splurge on. Same is true for bags and notions. Tanya has curated a store where there is something for everyone.

Yarn Trader recently announced they are the flagship store for Circus Tonic Handmade, a global brand which happens to call Adelaide home. What this means: a wide range of bases, exclusive colourways, and events! This is a really innovative, elevated approach to collaborating with a business like Hannah’s.
Multiple business awards have been bestowed upon this not-so-little yarn store, most recently, the 2024 North Western Small Business of the Year. While Tanya’s business acumen and industry knowledge are undoubtedly the core reason for this success, it is also testament to the supportive Adelaide yarn craft community, who were so very pleased to have a boutique yarn store open in our city seven years ago, and continue to visit the store on regular pilgrimages, myself included!
