The Dark MOFO Cowl is a stranded colourwork cowl worked in two custom colours by Bombed Yarns with a steeked button band opening. It was designed by Pru Raymond to introduce three key skills for successful colourwork knitting:
✔️Reading stranded colourwork charts
✔️Colour dominance when knitting with two different coloured yarns
✔️ Steeking
The pattern subtly evokes the insignia Hobart’s alternative Arts Festival, held every winter. The smoky, berry tones of the design were inspired by Smoke Bush or Cotinus coggygria which produces dramatic, purple, smoke-like foliage.
